Paul. My Recommendation Is "The Kraken Project" by Douglass Preston. This story is about a space probe equipped with a new strong AI program, designed to go to Titan, Specifically the Kraken sea. This software was being tested for the first time in a special facility simulating the conditions on Titan. Then things got weird.

DeleteA excellent episode, will there be a follow up? I would like to recommend a set of videos I found on Youtube all about AI, https://youtu.be/IB1OvoCNnWY (not sure if links work here but one can always copy and paste) :)
ReplyDeleteAlso thanks to Mr Grigg for the Railsea recommendation 'tis a good book indeed
Don't know when we'll follow up - I think we need more expertise to move the discussion forward. Maybe it's a topic for the Wow! Signal instead, where we sit down with an expert, have an extended chat, and mine the best bits of it.
